GENERAL MEETING

   JUNE 30, 2004 at 7 p.m.

 Bush Bros.  on Weisgarber Road

Mayor Haslam is coming to our meeting.

We’ve asked him to tell us about his plans to help mature neighborhoods like ours and to answer your questions.

We’ve also invited other local officials to be available. Please come and let the Mayor know our concerns about codes enforcement, traffic

             COMMUNITY YARD SALE

The Lonas Drive Community Association was planning a community yard sale and so was the Far View Hills Neighborhood Watch Group, so we’re using the same date. On July 31 plan on selling what you no longer need or buying some bargains from your neighbors.  We’ll be publicizing the event in the newspaper and posting signs in the area.  You should put out a sign or balloons on your mailbox.   Far View Hills Board Members:

Polly Doka and Judy Sumner

         CLEANING UP LITTER

On March 27 you may have noticed neighbors cleaning up trash along Lonas Drive as part of the Keep Knoxville Beautiful campaign. West Lonas Area Board Members: Gordon Acuff, Scott Boling and Sharon Kime

BEAUTIFY OUR AREA--BUY A

            CREPE MRYTLE

In addition to picking up litter, one way to beautify our community and make it distinctive is by putting mother nature to use. The crepe myrtle is a very hardy plant (hardier than the dogwood) and offers blooms in profusion. We hope to have crepe myrtles in bloom throughout the LCDA area, Little Green Garden is working with us on a great price for them for our community--$9.95. Either sign up at the June 30 general meeting or contact Scott Boling (sboling@bushbros.com) to order one or a bunch of pink or  white crepe myrtles.

COMMUNITY PICNIC. Stay tuned. We’re planning a community cook-out for later this summer.  Timbercrest Pool: Contact Greg Lock or Kirk Anderson to join.

  HOLLYWOOD HILLS AREA

We’re sorry to report Angelo Patrizio recently passed away. Our condolences to his family. Angelo was serving on the Board representing Hollywood Hills. If you live in Hollywood Hills and would like to be more active in the community, please let one of the Board members know. Congratulations to neighbor and long time board member Max Springer on his recent success in the 90 and over competition.  Area Board members:  Roberta Potter and Jean Taylor

          DAYLILLIES GALORE

                  (Wesley Heights)

The Knoxville News Sentinel is doing a great job getting out a community supplement for the Bearden-West area. Recently our neighbors on Holman received kudos for the gardening. You can’t miss their house, it’s the one with all the flowers in front. Area Board members: Suzanne Kurth, Steve Watson

Please let board members know your concerns and what activities you would like to see in the Lonas Drive Community.
